Re-usable flat slide sheets with handles are commonly used by UK hospitals and nursing homes. Made from silicone coated polyester the slide sheets provide an extra slippy surface for patient movements. With the correct training, slide sheet use makes it easier for you to do your job and avoid injuries. The reusable slide sheets with handles are available in teal polyester fabric. For infection control, the slide sheets can be washed in a hot wash, to thermal disinfection temperatures Most importantly, be careful not to use chlorine bleach or softener when laundering the slide sheets. This would damage the silicone coating and reduce the all important glide movement.
